Our Storytime program allows children to listen to their parent’s voice at home, reading them a bedtime story, which brings great comfort.
Parents in custody also greatly appreciate this chance to connect with their children and show them they are always in their thoughts.
Here’s some lovely feedback from mums and dads in custody who took part in the Storytime program.
FEEDBACK
“I just want to thank you for going out of your way to set up Storytime for my kids. It’s been a long time since they heard my voice and I know they will love it.
I know all the boys appreciate everything you do for us in here too, so a big thank you on their behalf as well.”

“I want to thank you about your help to let us be closer to our kids. Thanks again for my voice message [Storytime] that you send to my kids and wife.
That’s was so nice and amazing from you. When my daughters received the voice message from you and listened to it, they cried and they wish for me to come back as soon as possible from far country back home.”

I love how she [the SHINE for Kids team] is so real and how she makes me comfortable with what I was doing (recording).
I know how much they love their books, especially me reading them before they go to bed. Somehow, it helped me feel closer to my boys. It means the world to me to be able to do this.
