In custody in Queensland and a first-time mum-to-be, Jasmine*, recently took part in our Bringing Up Great Kids parenting program, an experience that helped her discover confidence she didn’t know she had.
At first, Jasmine felt nervous about joining, unsure of her place in a group where many of the other participants already had children.
But as the sessions progressed, she found comfort in hearing other mums’ experiences and began picking up practical tools she could use when her own baby arrives.
Before long, Jasmine realised she already had a strong foundation to build on. Having helped raise several of her younger siblings, she brought valuable insight to the group, and by the end of the program, she was confidently sharing her thoughts and experiences with others.
Jasmine was proud to complete the program and asked for her certificate to be sent to her family in the community. Her mum was delighted to hear the news, making the achievement feel like a real moment of growth.
For our team, supporting Jasmine was a reminder of the importance of helping women to recognise their own strengths and capabilities.
“It was so rewarding to see her confidence grow,” our team shared. “Programs like this show just how important it is to support women in recognising their parenting capabilities.”
