Seeing the positive outcomes of our programs firsthand makes our day, and that’s precisely what happened when our team watched mum in custody, Molly*, play with her child at a recent playgroup session in Brisbane.
Molly had just completed our parenting program, Bringing Up Great Kids, and was desperate to put her newfound skills to use.
Luckily, our team was able to arrange for her to join our Playgroup program, where she could spend quality time engaging with her young daughter, Cecily*.
Our team watched as Molly attentively played with and listened to her daughter, calmly navigating moments that would have caused stress in the past, such as when Cecily wanted to play with another child’s toy and when she didn’t pack away a game properly.
“This was an amazing experience to see a mother put into action things that they have learnt in the Bringing Up Great Kids session while engaging with her child,” our team said.
At the end of the session, our team pulled Molly aside to check in with her and tell her how well she had done, especially as mother and daughter had been apart for some time.
Molly told her, “I learnt so much from Bringing Up Great Kids, and it has given me the confidence to fall straight back into the parenting role. You reminded me that I am a good mother.”
We look forward to supporting Molly and Cecily during playgroup as they continue to strengthen their beautiful bond.
