First Storytime at Bathurst a hit!

The very first Storytime session for dads at Bathurst Correctional Centre could not have been more of a success!

Two grateful dads took part in what is sure to become a much-loved program for families at the centre. They carefully chose age-appropriate books to record for their children, with one selecting Where is the Green Sheep? and the other Find My Happy.

Our team shared that both dads really got into character during their recordings, bringing the stories to life in a way that made them fun and engaging to listen to.

“I’m confident the children will absolutely love this,” our team said.

Now, their children are eagerly awaiting a special package from dad, complete with the recorded story and picture book. Being able to hear their dad’s voice reading to them each day will help maintain a strong sense of connection while they are apart.

“Both participants expressed sincere gratitude for the opportunity, with one sharing that it gave him a meaningful way to remain present in his child’s life, even when he couldn’t be there physically.

“It’s incredibly rewarding to know that I’ve helped these fathers maintain a safe and healthy connection with their children,” said our team.
