A group of dads at Wellington Correctional Centre have been busy creating heartfelt Christmas gifts for their children, handmade with love and designed to help families feel close, even when they can’t be together.
Our team described the workshop as a truly special day.
“The men surprised themselves with how creative they were.”
“There was easy, happy banter around the room as they talked about their kids and the funny things they say. They were all so grateful for the chance to make a gift and write their own cards.”
Carers were thrilled when our team called to let them know that the gifts were on their way to their children.
“I felt happy I could help connect families and make the children feel special, knowing their dad is thinking of them,” said our team.
These moments of connection are what our work is all about: reminding children that they are loved, and giving dads the chance to show they care, even from afar.
