First Child & Parent Day at Clarence success with hugs all around
A group of happy children spent quality time with their dads at our first-ever Child & Parent Day at Clarence Correctional Centre. The children were a little nervous at first as […]
Within days, he completed a referral and was sitting down with our team to record his story.
He chose Pugs Don’t Wear Pyjamas as Chloe loves animals and he also spoke with our team member about how he was feeling about his upcoming visit with her, his first in a long time.
He was worried about it and how hard it would be having to sit far apart and not being able to hug.
On the day on the visit, our team member met mum Vera* and Chloe as they were walking to get their RAT test to let them know they had a special package containing the Storytime book, a Birthday Program gift from dad, a teddy, and a SHINE for Kids bag ready for them.
Mum Vera was very appreciate.
The next day, we received an email from Vera saying, “Aaron wanted me to send you an email from himself thanking you for your time and help creating Chloe’s story book and for the gifts. He really appreciates it.”
A few days later our team member passed Aaron working on the grounds and he told her he had a great visit and Chloe was able to sit with him the whole time.
Now visits are back, we are sure Chloe will be excited to come see her dad each weekend and attend the Invisits Program!
