SHINE on Food Relief in The Monthly
Our acting CEO April Long was interviewed for this story about emergency food relief during COVID in The Monthly.
We, like many charities, have seen demand for food relief surge and are so grateful that, thanks to funding from the City of Parramatta, we have been able to upscale our food program.
For us, hampers are about more than food, they are also a way to reach out and check in during what’s been a really stressful time for families with a loved one in custody.
Thank you Lord Mayor Clr Steven Issa for helping us feed 225 children and support 40 families.
Also thank you to Dept of Communities and Justice NSW – safer together for additional funding to support this work.
