Food relief is back at Cessnock Child & Family Centre

Food support is back for families dropping by our Cessnock Child & Family Centre with over 75 grateful mums, dads, carers and kids dropping in one weekend.

One mother expressed how grateful she was for the support saying she’d felt so isolated before, but thanks to our connections, now felt part of the community again.

Our local team member David said that feedback like this is what makes him know he’s making a real difference.

This is only made possible thanks to local organisation SOUPZ ON who receive food from OzHarvest, SecondBite and Foodbank Australia.

It’s been wonderful to see our families returning to visits, with more coming every week.

They pop in before or after visiting Hunter, Cessnock or Shortland Correctional Centers for somewhere to change a nappy and let the kids play while our team links them with support available through our and other services.

With a jump from 40 to 70 people in one week, the demand for food support is growing!

Please donate today and help kids and families.

Thank you to SOUPZ ON.
