On Thursday night the 25th of August 2022, SHINE for Kids was delighted to be invited to FICAP’s annual fundraiser event at Establishment in Sydney.
FICAP’s(Financial Industry Community Aid Program) goal is to support disadvantaged young people and was established in 2006 as a way for financial services professionals to give back to the community.
The event returned this year after being put on hold during the pandemic with a live acoustic set, drawing a crowd of 300 investment industry professionals.
Over $120,000 was raised through the evening for SHINE for Kids and the other charity partner, Starlight Children’s Foundation.
The funds raised from FICAP will provide essential support for our RISE Education program in Western Sydney.

Speaking at the event, FICAP chair Marnie McLaren said: “It’s so exciting to see everyone together. We’ve had a few false starts trying to reorganise the event and lockdown contributed to that but being here tonight is incredible.”
Our team had a great night raising awareness of the issue of parental incarceration and laying the groundwork for more exciting supporter opportunities in the future.
Huge thanks to our amazing sponsors for raising over $120k for @SHINEforKids & @Starlight_star at last night’s FICAP Live & Acoustic event. What a great night – we loved seeing you all! Stay tuned for photos & videos from our media partner @FinStd#FICAPhttps://t.co/2jAfygYgd0
