Over the school holidays, SHINE for Kids teams across the country held special RISE Together Days for children in the program.
The days were an opportunity for kids to meet others going through the same thing they are, try new experiences in a supported environment, and make new friends.
Children with a parent in custody often feel isolated so days like this are so important.
At Kempsey’s RISE Together Day, local artist Ingrid Riverstone held a one-hour weaving session with the children using all-natural materials.
The children had fun using their creativity to make special woven bracelets and build elaborate structures with sticks and thread.
The activity was followed by a relaxing BBQ in the sun and lots of outdoors games and running!
Thank you to the families who came along and made RISE Together Kempsey such a wonderful day.
We’ve loved hearing all the positive feedback!
