Child & Parent Day reported on by radio show The Wire

Our wonderful Child & Parent Days and the benefits they provide children and mums in custody alike were reported on in this radio show by The Wire, a daily current affairs program, broadcast exclusively on Community and Indigenous radio stations around Australia.

Thank you for sharing this story and highlighting the value and importance of the special connection between parent and child.

The Wire: Last weekend on Mother’s day at the Dillwynia Correctional Centre near Windsor, the SHINE for Kids foundation arranged with the prison a joyful event with the children of prisoners in the Centre. Thirty female prisoners were able to have a Child and Parent day in a play-group type setting.
