Our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) reflects our sincere commitment to continue listening to, learning from, and partnering with First Nations communities to address the challenges faced by children, young people and families affected by the justice system.
We recognise that reconciliation is an ongoing journey that should be guided by the aspirations of First Nations people and communities and that asking and listening is an essential part of this process.
First Nations families are disproportionately affected by the justice system due to systemic inequalities that persist in our society, and the need for reconciliation is painfully evident.
By developing this Reconciliation Action Plan, we are stating our commitment, in writing, to a tangible process that will help foster a culture of accountability, empathy, collaboration and restoration necessary for meaningful change towards a shared future.
It is a Reconciliation Action Plan that acknowledges the progress we have made towards reconciliation but also that we can do so much more.
Our RAP was completed under the guidance of Reconciliation Australia.
