3 May 2011Federal Member for Calare and Shadow Minister for Agriculture and Food Security, John Cobb, has congratulated SHINE for Kids Bathurst for being awarded funding as part of the Federal Government's Community Investment Program. SHINE for Kids was awarded $327,466 for its 'Breaking the Cycle – Supporting Children and Young People' project. "This money will enable SHINE for Kids to establish the program which will provide a strong support network for young people who have a parent in the criminal justice system," Mr Cobb said. "The program will assist these children to overcome social and educational barriers and realise their individual potential. "The funding will also be offered over a three year period to ensure funding certainty for the service provider." Mr Cobb said he was pleased that such a large amount of funding was going towards projects in regional Australia. |
