Supported Transport

To help children and young people living in out-of-home care visit their parent in prison, we provide a transport service and supervision program.

One of our trained staff drive the child/ren or young person to and from the prison. Once there, the staff member stays with the child, acting as a guide, observing each visit to make sure contact is appropriate, kid friendly and always in the best interests of the child.

As this program is for children and young people in out-of-home care, we make the arrangements through NSW Family and Community Services.

Who is it for?

For families, carers and out-of-home care caseworkers who have a child or young person wanting to visit a parent in prison.
