Baroness Jean Corston, who spoke at a breakfast at Parliament House co-sponsored by SHINE for Kids, appeared today on ‘The Morning Show’ to discuss her groundbreaking work leading to The Corston Report in 2007. The UK government adopted 41 or its 43 recommendations regarding female imprisonment.

Corston said that seeing a baby in prison with its mother, who was incarcerated for an offence so petty that a man would probably only have been fined, had a profound effect on her and has impelled her life’s work.
