SHINE for Kids families have fun during NAIDOC Week

Each year NAIDOC Week has been celebrated at our Child and Family Centres with Family Fun Days.  Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander inmates and their families enjoy a some great treats like traditional food, dancing, games … even jumping castles!

Of course there is traditional painting! Kids, did you know that you don’t need a paintbrush to make a dot painting? Sometimes we also paint our own boomerangs! Or perhaps, if SHINE for Kids has recently run the ‘Colourful Dreaming’ program the artwork from those inmates and their kids might also be on display.

We also provide day care at our Centres so families can relax, laugh and have fun with their loved ones.

NAIDOC is celebrated on different days at different locations. For details about your nearest NAIDOC celebrations this year, phone us on (02) 9714 3000!
